  1. John Lucas III:

John Lucas first came to the Bulls in 2010-11 as a third string point guard. He rarely saw the floor that year, but the next year, with Rose struggling with injuries for the first time, he was given extended minutes by default. What was obvious when watching Lucas is that he didn’t take his chance for granted and definitely tried to make the most of his opportunity. When watching him play, he looked like more like a kid playing pick up in his local gym than a professional basketball player playing in the NBA.

Watching him was wildly entertaining as you never knew what you were going to get with him, but it was also frustrating at times because frankly, he was ball hog, who time and time again was the only one to touch the ball during possessions. All in all John Lucas can consider his time with the Bulls a success because of the extreme odds he was up against, but his impact isn’t nearly as great as other guards have had during Thibodeau’s time as coach.
