Jon Greenberg of ESPN.com wrote recently in one of his columns that, now that the 2014 rendition of the Chicago Bears has come to a merciful end, Derrick Rose becomes the most scrutinized athlete in the city of Chicago.
Rose has always been under the microscope, but the way in which fans and the media have viewed him has dramatically swayed when comparing view points pre-injury as opposed to post-injury. Before the injury in 2012, people meticulously analyzed every aspect of his being, and could find no wrong. Now people do the same thing and can’t find any right. It is a weird phenomenon; a complete 180 change that nobody would have predicted when Derrick was holding the MVP trophy over his head.
It is now 2015, and the circumstance surrounding Derrick Rose have completely changed. Instead of wondering where his ceiling as a player will end, a new question has risen to the forefront. Will Rose ever rise again and once again reach the glory of his past?
