27.) Sacramento Kings: (14th in the Western Conference)
Maybe I’m too low on the Kings this season, but I definitely don’t like that they lost Isaiah Thomas to free agency this offseason. Now the Kings turn to Darren Collison at point guard and although he’s not bad, he is going to handicap them on the offense end of the floor. Sacramento is currently in trouble because I don’t know how much more losing DeMarcus Cousins can take. If they continue to lose basketball games, then they better expect for Cousins to ask for a way out of Sacramento. Can they get rid of him? That will be the burning question. Will a coach want to coach some like Cousins because with his history, right now, the answer is no.
Question: Will the Kings make a move to be relevant?
This rumor has been circling around the Kings for a while as they are a trade away from being able to make the playoffs in the Western Conference. The one trade that comes to mind is of course Rajon Rondo. Why not make the move? Give into what the Celtics want, acquire Rondo and attempt to make the playoffs in the Western Conference and see what your team can do. Right now, without a playoff caliber point guard, they can’t expect to reach the post season and should expect to be picking in the top-5 next season.
