30. Philadelphia 76ers: (15th in the Eastern Conference)
I think the 76ers are going to be the worst team in basketball this season and they are okay with that. The 76ers have started building from the ground up and they are currently trying to stockpile multiple top-12 draft picks, in order to become relevant in the near future. If you look at the potential starting lineup for the Sixers you may get sick, as only two players on their entire team would play for a relevant NBA team. If this was a “building for the future” article, then the Sixers would certainly be in the top-15 teams. Unfortunately, they still have to develop Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel, and Michael Carter-Williams and while this process is happening, it means they are in store for a long season.
Question: Should the Sixers consider trading away Michael Carter-Williams?
Carter-Williams is coming off winning the rookie of the year award just last year, but the Sixers have considered trading him for more draft picks. However, should they? I think the Sixers ultimately will have to keep him, but somewhat of that feeling is just me being selfish. I want to see how the Sixers blossom defensively; with the two shot blockers, (Nerlens Noel and Joel Embiid) and a lengthy 6-foot-7 point guard (Michael Carter-Williams).
