Chicago Bulls Roster: Hansbrough, English and Jones Waived!

facebooktwitterreddit

Well guess what Chicago Bulls fans! The Chicago Bulls roster has had major changes in the last few days. No, Derrick Rose did not go down to injury…again. The Bulls have not gotten rid of Tony Snell…yet. Jimmy Butler has not been signed to his much deserved contract…really?

No Bulls fans, the last three players signed by the Chicago Bulls were waived.

I guess this is the version of last guy hired, first one fired…NBA style.

Pippen Ain’t Easy did a winners and losers of week one coverage of players in training camp last week. Unfortunately, Ben Hansbrough, Kim English and Solomon Jones was on the losing side of the coverage. Let’s be real folks, I had a better chance of making this roster than these guys. This is not a joke, but the truth. I believe it took me more time  to research and write articles about these three players than they spent on the court this preseason. Let’s close the book on these three players shall we?

Solomon Jones

Let me start with excerpts from a comment from Anthony Hinton…

"This guy is making an honest living, working hard and not causing any trouble; It’s not always about stats and  potential. Sometimes it’s just about being in the right place at the right time. I have a ton of respect for guys who get bounced around from team to team, preseason to preseason……For the record, I don’t know the guy. I just think hard-working people shouldn’t be trashed for not being better than what others think they should be, they should be thanked and encouraged for not giving up."

First off to Anthony Hinton and whomever else who read the article. I appreciate the passion you showed after reading the article. It is always appreciated when comments are sent.

However…

Solomon Jones was never in danger of making a squad with a bottomless pit of big men on the roster. When the Orlando Magic, who stunk up the league to the point of tanking waives you in midseason after averaging 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds on the strength of 35% from the floor and 50% from the free throw line, what do you call the article besides the truth? If it is not about stats and potential, what do GM’s use to evaluate the players? I’ll wait.

This is not about Solomon Jones, but about the Chicago Bulls. Jones probably wouldn’t have  been let in the door if Joakim Noah did not have knee issues or if Pau Gasol was not getting up in age. Again, if you are new to Pippen Ain’t Easy, we’re not known for bedside manner when we analyze roster moves, but we will tell what we think to best inform you on what is happening on Chicago Bulls roster moves and what might happen next. Let me check and see if that was accomplished…Solomon Jones will be cut, yep goal accomplished!

Solomon Jones production basically began and ended in the preseason game versus Detroit. He played a pick and roll play to perfection and had a dunk. Here’s the dunk seen above. But he fouled out in eleven minutes.

Ben Hansbrough

I’ll let Tyrone Black speak on how much most people cared about Ben Hansbrough…

"Ronald, you could have kept that article. A waste of my time, but thanks for the effort. Maybe now preseason is starting Monday. We can get to the real news as you mentioned earlier in your article."

Tyrone, I guess you’re right because outside of giving high fives to players during timeouts, he never saw the floor except to make the lay up line even.

I guess Ben Hansbrough is still known as the guy that was defended by his brother Tyler while in Indiana. But don’t fret Ben, last I heard Tyler is still playing in Toronto. Good luck Ben!

Kim English

Okay everyone, the guy in the t-shirt hugging Jimmy Butler after he hit the game winning shot against Atlanta is Kim English. Did he do anything else this preseason?

I’ll step out-of-the-way and let Pippen Peoples member Jimbo make the call…

"This guy will never see the court. If he even makes the team, he’ll be lucky to play the Eric Murphy role and close out the last 30 seconds of a blowout."

Well Pippen Peoples, there you have it from Jimbo. He is right. The way Jimbo eloquently put it, he might have a future with Pippen Ain’t Easy. Kim English never saw the court. I don’t even think he dressed for all the preseason games. But Jimbo, the “Eric Murphy” role has been locked up by Cameron Bairstow. But Tony Snell is hot on his heels after the preseason he’s had.

Well it’s time to cue up “Another One Bites The Dust” by Queen on these players because they have parted company with the Chicago Bulls. Now the Chicago Bulls have 14 players on their roster. Even though these guys are history, Pippen Ain’t Easy will still be here with all the in-depth analysis on all things Chicago Bulls.
