Most Valuable Player (MVP) – Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder
Repeat! Kevin Durant is the obvious choice to me because Kevin is in that point of his career where he can get away with not winning championships, as long as he keeps winning regular season awards. I think at this point the MVP means more to Kevin Durant than it does to LeBron James. LeBron really seems to only be focused on June, while Kevin is thinking MVP first, then June second. Durant is taking more of a step-by-step process. He’s going to have all the numbers; 30+ Points per game, 5 Assists per game and 7 Rebounds per game are stats that we can expect from our former MVP.
Kevin Durant is currently focused on building his basketball resume, and in order to start doing that, one must begin to pile up MVP awards. Piling up MVP awards allows for your name to start getting mentioned in the same breath as NBA greats; such as, LeBron James and Michael Jordan. Kevin Durant is a man on a mission, who’s ring is coming, but for right now, let’s just be happy with seeing him win MVP’s.
