The Bulls Try To Make the “Splash Brothers” Dry Tonight!

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY Sports

Well Pippen Peoples, the Chicago Bulls continue their Western Conference road trip when they travel to Oakland and play the Golden State Warriors. The Bulls are 2-2 on this current road trip that has Dr. Jekyll AND Mr. Hyde rolling over in their graves with way the Bulls have been playing. They played so well against the San Antonio Spurs and the Phoenix Suns who are both in the playoff chase. Then they go out and get smoked like Newport cigarettes against the New Orleans Pelicans and Sacramento Kings who are in the lottery ping-pong ball chase. Coming into tonight’s game against the Warriors, I thought the Bulls had no chance against Golden State. Now I’m not so sure.

The sexy choice on who is going to win this game is obviously the Golden State Warriors. Sure, why not. They boast one of the most up and coming  backcourts in the NBA in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson aka the “Splash Brothers”. They have a new free agent acquisition in Andre Iguodola. David Lee is a crowd favorite who is a double-double waiting to happen. With all of that talent, they should win right? No. Because this team just refuses to play defense and the frontline is as soft as tissue paper… wet.

The Warriors are coming off a serious beat down to the Charlotte Bobcats. I’m going to say that one more time because believe me, Charlotte does not beat down many teams. The Warriors are coming off a serious beat down to the Charlotte Bobcats!! They  scored only 75 points in that game which was their lowest point total since 2004. Furthermore they are throwing up bricks while Al Jefferson is making Michael Jordan look like a competent executive. (Remember, he’s the one that drafted Kwame Brown AND Adam Morrison.) There is no way that the Warriors should be giving up 30 points and 13 rebounds to this man. Not with the lack of shooters the Bobcats have. Also with Kemba Walker getting hurt again, the Warriors should have run the Bobcats out of the gym. The Warriors have dropped seven of their last twelve after running off ten straight games. The “Splash Brothers” are starting to look like the “No Shot Drip” boys these days. Klay Thompson’s jump shot is on a poster in the Post Office, shooting only 29% from the field and 32% from the three-point area. He has lost his confidence and it is affecting his whole game. He can’t guard anyone these days. Jimmy Butler, dinnertime! Stephen Curry is my favorite player in the NBA. That boy can shoot Pippen Peoples. Want to start a debate in your local barber shop? Ask who shoots better, his father Dell or Steph? Let the debate begin. However he does have issues. He turns the ball over at a rate that would make a coach sick.

The frontline should have a field day with the Warriors. Hey Carlos! Are you listening? Andrew Bogut is not a threat to score but he eats the glass. If you can keep him off the boards the Bulls will be able to make moves. The Warriors are a team that turns the ball over WAAAAAAY too much. The Bulls need to turn them over and get easy baskets. Finally, for the grace of all that is good with the world….DON’T LET CURRY GET HOT!

These previews are a crap shoot these days because the games the Bulls should win, they lose. The games that they should lose they win. The Bulls should lose this game. Based on what has happened lately. Bulls win?
