2. C.J. Watson passes to Omer Asik in Game 6 of the First Round

We all know what was the worst moment of the Bulls season and their trip to the playoffs, but while it’s not a close second, C.J. Watson’s ill-fated pass to Omer Asik in Game 6 of the First Round of the NBA Playoffs still makes you flinch.

The Bulls were finally getting their groove back. They had the Sixer up against the ropes and were about to force a Game 7 showdown that Chicago very well could have won based on how jazzed up they were from the recent string of wins. Chicago had posted two consecutive wins to make it a 3-2 series lead for the Sixers, and with seconds left in Game 6, it looked like we were headed back to Chicago for the final game of the series.

Until C.J. Watson cemented his legacy with the Bulls with one pass.

All Watson needed to do was take the foul, everyone in the building knew it was coming. The Sixers needed a foul to end the Bulls to the line with the hope that they could tie the game and send things overtime.

All Watson needed to do was take the foul, go to the line and put the Bulls up for good. Instead he passed to Omer Asik who missed a lay on which he was fouled on, and proceeded to miss both his free throws which would have iced the game.

Instead of winning Game 6 like they should have, Andre Iguodala got the ball, raced down the court and not only sunk a layup but was fouled by Omer Asik and sent to the line. He made both free throws which gave the Sixer a one point win and the series victory.

After the way the series had started, and the way hope had been remanufactured so quickly, to lose the series and end the season the way it did still hurts to think about even now.
