NBA Mock Draft 2011

8. Detroit Pistons — Bismack Biyombo/F-C, Congo

The Pistons will be looking to add a post player to compliment Greg Monroe, and Tristan Thompson may be the answer to that. But picks 8-11 are what I like to deem the hot zone, as there are reportedly numerous teams looking to move into these spots. The Pistons are seriously considering a deal proposed by the Houston Rockets that would send the 14th and 23rd picks to Detroit according to Chad Ford. The target at 14 would be at Marfkeiff Morris from Kansas. Morris is also a power forward and the Pistons feel they can get him at 14. Further evidence of this scenario playing out is the fact Morris worked out for the Pistons and wowed them. I’m not predicting a slew of trades in 8-11 but it’s like tornado alley; one could strike at anytime in this sections and if it does it could be huge. However you can’t count out the fact that Detroit is really high on Bismack Biyombo from Congo. They like them both and it will really come down to the wire and will be based off whether there is a solid trade offer or who worked out the best.
