13. Phoenix Suns — Jimmer Fredette/PG, BYU
The Suns will go one of two ways at 13 if all plays in their favor. One direction would be to draft Channing Frye’s ultimate replacement or running mate in Tristan Thompson from Texas, but the more obvious choice would be to draft the replacement for Steve Nash who is 37. Jimmer Fredette is high on the Suns board and if available at 13 (barring a trade by New York) they will take him. Nash was rumored to be traded to Minnesota to play mentor to Ricky Rubio, but both sides agreed to walk away from that. But Phoenix may take that idea from Minnesota and use it for their own benefit. Having Nash mentor Jimmer, who seems much to have a character build like Nash, would be brilliant for the Suns. Nash is arguably one of the franchises all-time most respected, liked and talented star and to replicate him in Jimmer is a blueprint for success moving forward.
