1) Bulls sign Carlos Boozer

He wasn’t LeBron, he was better. Boozer wasn’t the cream of the free agent crop but he has certainly proved to be one of the best signings of the offseason. Derrick Rose was the Batman of Chicago, but he was in need of a sidekick. Carlos Boozer enters as his Robin and the Bulls take off. Boozer’s impact wasn’t felt fully until he made his debut in December after missing the beginning of the season with a broken pinky, but the Bulls made a great investment in Boozer and saw immediate return.

Boozer has already managed 6 double-doubles in 15 games. He has gone over 30 points over two times and commands the team when Rose isn’t on the court. So far Boozer has been wroth every penny the Bulls paid him and looks like he will be the best free agaent addition the Bulls have had in a very long time.

The addition of Boozer adds the star power of this team as well. It’s not a team jam packed with huge names, it’s jam packed with names that people know, but names that are very talented. Miami has an experiment going on where they combine three gigantic names and sees how it turns out. Chicago is trying something different out but with names you’ve heard but may not know much about. It’s the equivalent of a Quentin Tarantino movie where he puts in a face you’ve seen in a small part somewhere and makes you go “Oh wow, he’s pretty good.”. That’s what Chicago is doing and it’s working excellently and is super cool to watch and be a part of.
