Jersey patch ideas for the Chicago Bulls in the 2017-18 season

CHICAGO - MARCH 06: A detail of a patch is seen on the jersey of Kirk Hinrich #12 of Chicago Bulls in memory of former Bulls coach and announcer Johnny "Red" Kerr as well as former Bulls Player Norm Van Lier (who wore the #2 while with the Bulls) against the Milwaukee at the United Center on March 6, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois. Both Kerr and Van Lier passed away on February 26. Who could look to pay the Chicago Bulls to put their company name on their uniforms? We had some suggestions and/or ideas.

Starting in the 2017-18 NBA season, the uniforms of the Chicago Bulls and the rest of the league will look a tad different. It’s not just Nike making the 2017-18 season’s looks for everyone. Jersey patches of corporate sponsors will be a thing and to be honest, the patches look pretty good with the rest of the confirmed uniforms.

Like most of the league, the Bulls have yet to name a sponsor for their jerseys, but that could change in the months leading up to the season. There’s been no leaks or rumors surrounding a Bulls jersey patch, but that’s where we come into play.

For this, we made some suggestions on who the Bulls could look to partner with for a patch on next season’s jerseys and beyond.

Portillo’s

If you’re a Chicago resident or if you’ve spent some time in Chicago, you’ve probably ate some delicious grub from Portillo’s.

If you’ve lived under a rock or haven’t been that fortunate to venture to Chicago in your lifetime, Portillo’s Hot Dogs is one of the best things about the Windy City. The menu is endless, the food is amazing and it’s more Chicago than Chicago itself.

If they’re willing to fork over $5-8 million a year like some of the bigger sponsors have been paying, it would certainly be a good fit on the Bulls uniform.

Guaranteed Rate

A logo with an arrow pointing down for a Jerry Reinsdorf-owned team in the midst of a rebuild? Where have I seen this one before? Oh, right. That baseball team on the southern side of Chicago. Is it that crazy to think Guaranteed Rate, the official sponsor of the Chicago White Sox stadium after U.S. Cellular’s lease as the sponsor ended, could be the official sponsor of the rebuilding Chicago Bulls?

United

This one has a connection to the Chicago Bulls already. It is the United Center, you know. The airline is already putting a lot of money into putting their name on the home of the Chicago Bulls each year, but what’s another $5-8 million a year to put their logo on the Bulls uniforms? You may not fly with them, but you could see them more than you already do.

Allstate

This one takes a little bit of connecting the dots, but it’s Chicago-related, too. Out north of Chicago is the Rosemont Horizon, but you know it now as the Allstate Arena. Allstate is a huge insurance company that isn’t short of funds by any means and there’s a possibility they could want to put their name on one of Chicago’s biggest franchises for the next couple of year.

Dunkin’ Donuts

This has to be the winner. I mean, who doesn’t love the nightly Dunkin’ Donuts Race at the United Center during Bulls home games? It’s the best.

Plus, Dunkin’ Donuts are one of the best things about America as a whole and should be treated as such. It’s been a long-time sponsor of the Bulls and not much would be better than a patch on the Bulls jersey that’s of Biggie Bagel, Cuppy Coffee or Dashing Donut.
