It has been a tumultuous week for the Chicago Bulls. After a Tuesday loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers the entire organization was rumored to be in complete disarray. At that point, the Bulls had dropped 6 of their last 8 games and looked to be fruitlessly searching for answers on how to get back on track. But then this happened, and the entire outlook of the City of Chicago shifted 180 degrees in the opposite direction.

In light of the Bulls most recent victory, critics begin to wonder whether the onslaught of “doomsday” reporting that infested the Chicago papers remained applicable. Reports had permeated throughout Chicago that Thibodeau had lost the Bulls locker room and that there was a realistic possibility that he could be fired before the end of the season. These reports remain germane today because of the credibility associated with the reporters who first broke these stories.

Even in his tweet announcing the news, Chris Sheridan reminded fans how reliable he has been with his sources and information in the past.

In order to establish credibility for Sheridan as a legitimate source of information, lets briefly discuss his credentials. Sheridan covered the NBA for the associated press for 18 years and spent six years with ESPN as well. He currently operates Sheridan Hoops, an online basketball website stocked with breaking NBA news and professional analysis. Sheridan is credited for being the first person to break the news that Lebron James was going to return to Cleveland according to Deadspin.com.
