Big trades the Chicago Bulls could pull off in 2022: Form a true big four with Jerami Grant
By now, it might be pretty risky for the Bulls to go out and get a stud that would likely cost the team as much as star forward Jerami Grant from the Detroit Pistons would. The Bulls would clearly be able to assemble maybe the most potent and well-rounded starting unit on paper in the Eastern Conference if they landed Grant from the Pistons.
But with the Bulls firing on all cylinders right now, having to trade away some key pieces and bringing in a high-usage star player like Grant could wreak havoc. That would be the risk involved with going out to get someone with the name recognition and usage that Grant commands.
On the other side of this argument, it would be difficult for the Bulls to go out and find a player that is available and could be a better fit than Grant in the second half of the season. Grant is an All-Star caliber player that could be able to be a pretty clean fit ideally in this starting unit. He would essentially just be a form of P-Will on steroids in the starting unit.
This hypothetical proposed trade package obviously sees the Bulls giving up a lot. Just like the other two trades on this list, the Bulls are giving up a lot for what they get in return.
A trade like this would be one of the Bulls to really keep the title contention window open for two or three years. It’s hard to find another move where the Bulls could realistically make a bigger splash around the trade deadline this season compared to getting Grant from the Pistons. I will reiterate once again, though, this is a very risky move for the Bulls at this point of the season.
