Best shooters for Chicago Bulls to target in free agency: JJ Redick

The lone player on this list that is not an undrafted free agent is the former Duke Blue Devils star guard and the respected veteran sharpshooter JJ Redick. The former Dallas Mavericks guard is one of the biggest names in general remaining in free agency at this point. Redick is likely already on the radar of some other top teams.

But it’s at least worth a shot from Karnisovas and the Bulls to gauge the interest of Redick in coming to Chicago. The Bulls do have something building with this team under Donovan, and that could definitely appeal more to Redick than in recent years.

Even though Redick’s production and shooting numbers dropped last season, he was still efficient by most considerations. His field goal percentage dipped below 40 for the first time since his third year in the NBA with the Magic, well over one decade ago. Nonetheless, he still shot 39.7 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Given that he had a three-point attempt rate of .667 last season, the 39.7 field goal percentage isn’t all that bad.

The Bulls might not be the first choice for Redick, but this could be possible given how long it’s been since the free agency negotiation window opened this month. If the Bulls are still seeking out any veteran sharpshooters this offseason, then Redick is definitely the best and most proven option available now.
