Top options for the Chicago Bulls if Lonzo Ball is no longer available: Reggie Jackson

The idea that the Clippers could wind up signing Lonzo, then leading to the Bulls wanting to sign the Clippers’ starting point guard throughout the playoffs this year Reggie Jackson, seems absurd. And it surely is.

But the fact of the matter is that the Bulls could get a lot of value still out of Jackson if he could show out for them as he did for the Clippers in their playoff run this year. Jackson averaged an impressive 17.8 points per game, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.2 blocks, in the playoff run with the Clippers this season. And he shot 48.4 percent from the field, 40.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 87.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Clearly, that type of production would be valuable for the Bulls moving forward. And considering that Jackson’s stock looks to be higher heading into this cycle of free agency, the price tag to sign him just might not be all that high. There are too many other viable point guard options that top contenders around the NBA will be trying to sign, and/or trade for this summer.

Jackson would mostly be an option for the Bulls if they’re priced out of the market for other top point guards like Lonzo, Lowry, Phoenix Suns’ veteran star Chris Paul, etc. But I would personally prefer the Bulls going after someone like Jackson over another option like Dennis Schroder from the Lakers or
