NBA Mock Draft 1.0
The Kings can go in a number of different directions at number nine and eventually decide to select Moses Moody out of Arkansas. The 6’6” wing projects as a good Three-and-D player at the NBA level and the Kings are happy to get someone who should become a very good role player in the league.
This also covers them in the event that they move Buddy Hield this offseason in a trade. Moody averaged 15.8 points per game during his Freshman year at Arkansas and would compliment the duo of De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton very well.
The Pelicans need to add shooting around Zion Williamson this offseason but simply can’t pass up on the upside of Keon Johnson at 10th overall. His biggest weakness is shooting entering the NBA, but what he can develop into is very intriguing and worth waiting to address shooting for.
Johnson is a great athlete and uses those tools in transition and on the defensive end of the court. At the very least he will develop into every good NBA defender and role player. At most he is a key piece to the Pelicans moving forward.
If his upside hits the Pelicans would have an insanely gifted core group of Johnson, Zion and Brandon Ingram.
