Realistic star trade targets for the Chicago Bulls this summer: Jerami Grant

At first glance, it’s hard to find a good fit for the former Nuggets and current Detroit Pistons star forward Jerami Grant. But the Bulls actually could have a really nice slot for Grant at the three or the four playing alongside the likes of rookie forward Patrick Williams and the star big man Vooch at the five.

The 6-foot-8 and 210-pound 27-year-old Portland, OR, native Grant nearly got his first career All-Star nod this season. There were a lot of basketball fans that argued that Grant was deserving of that elusive first career All-Star selection, despite playing on one of the worst teams in the East in the Central Division foe Pistons.

Entering this offseason, the rebuilding Pistons might look to cash in on Grant while his stock is very high. He’s one of the best two-way forwards in the game today, and he’s familiar with both Karnisovas and to-be Bulls second-year head coach Billy Donovan. He played for Donovan for one year with the Oklahoma City Thunder and was with Karnisovas and the Nuggets last season.

The Bulls could have a lot of switchability in their forward/frontcourt rotation if they had a trio featuring Grant, Williams, and Vooch. Especially if the Bulls are able to bring back Theis heading into next season, the frontcourt rotation could be really solid if they also managed to get Grant from the Pistons.
