Chicago Bulls players who deserve a second chance: Troy Brown Jr.

Another key deadline day acquisition for Karnisovas and the Bulls back on March 25 was the former Washington Wizards 21-year-old shooting guard/small forward Troy Brown Jr. The Bulls gave up the duo of small forward Chandler Hutchison and center Daniel Gafford to get Brown Jr. in the mix a few months back.

As the lone Bulls player on this list that is not in the midst of a contract year in 2021, Brown Jr. is here because he should remain a key part of the wing rotation moving forward. There is a chance that the Bulls try to add depth on the wing this offseason, and Brown Jr. will then get lost in the mix and lose playing time next season.

Instead, it would make sense for Donovan to truly give Brown Jr. a chance to show what he can do in a steady role. That’s never really something that Brown Jr. had during his days with the Wizards and down the stretch with the Bulls. Brown Jr. was often injured with the Bulls in his two months with the team post-deadline.

If that remains the case where Brown Jr. is injured throughout a good portion of the 2021-22 season, then the Bulls could evaluate other options from then on out. But the bulls gave up a good amount to get the former first-round draft pick, Brown Jr., to Chicago at the deadline, and they should see out what remains on his rookie deal, which runs up next offseason.
