Ryan Arcidiacono, PG
There were a lot of Bulls fans that were up in arms about the amount of playing time that the former Villanova Wildcats point guard and undrafted free agent Ryan Arcidiacono got in the last couple of games. Arcidiacono got more playing time in the last two games for Donovan and the Bulls since second-year point guard Coby White is struggling with an upper-body injury.
And while there were moments that Arcidiacono did what he usually does to contribute to the Bulls in a positive way (i.e. generating turnovers, taking charges, and shooting pretty well from deep), he’s also been a detriment at times on the floor. The game scores he’s posted since the All-Star Break concluded haven’t even come close to touching double figures.
A lot of the game scores Arcidiacono had since the All-Star Break let out were actually in the negatives. He was also a net negative on the floor often for the Bulls over the course of this five-game losing streak.
In the loss to the Suns on March 31, Arcidiacono was at least a net positive out on the floor. But he only registered two points on 1-of-4 shooting from the field and 0-of-1 from beyond the arc.
Once White gets back for the Bulls, maybe Donovan will have spottier use of Arcidiacono once again. It’s hard to figure out exactly where the best place is for him out on the floor, especially under Donovan’s direction instead of former head coach Jim Boylen.
