It appears that the magic number of games played for two of the three former Bulls point guards on this list was 67. And that makes the final name on this list the recently signed Phoenix Suns point guard Payne. The former 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft by the Thunder hasn’t found much sustained success at any of his stops in the league to date.

Payne joined the Bulls as part of that notable trade at the 2017 deadline with the Thunder that saw former Creighton Blue Jays wing Doug McDermott shipped off to OKC along with big man Taj Gibson. The Bulls also got guard Anthony Morrow and big man Joffrey Lauvergne in return for Gibson and McDermott.

This didn’t wind up being a trade deal that worked out well for the Bulls at all. The 6-foot-3 and 190 point former Murray State floor general started in 26 of the 67 games he played in a Bulls uniform over the course of bits and pieces of three different seasons. He averaged 6.7 points per game, 2.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.2 blocks. Payne shot 39.7 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line in his three seasons with the Bulls.

That amounted to Payne posting a -2.7 box plus/minus rating, -0.2 value over replacement player rating, .025 win shares per 48 minutes, 11.3 player efficiency rating, 0.7 total win shares, and a 48.4 true shooting percentage. He also registered a 99 offensive rating/112 defensive rating during his run with the Bulls.
