To fill what is possibly the biggest depth need for the Bulls, they can look to a number of under-the-radar wing options in this free agent cycle. Although this is a pretty shallow free agent class compared to 2019 and what is projected to come to fruition in 2021, there is more wing depth than you would expect.

A good initial target for the Bulls to look into, especially if they try to move either small forward Otto Porter Jr. and/or Chandler Hutchison soon, would be Brooklyn Nets 6-foot-6 shooting guard/small forward Joe Harris. Playing in 63 games with the Nets before the NBA season hiatus, Harris averaged 13.9 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from beyond the arc.

In the final year of his two-year contract that he signed with the Nets back during the 2018 offseason, Harris is likely to get anywhere between $8-12 million. He made about $8 million annually in the last two seasons with the Nets. His solid shooting efficiency and ideal fit in the modern NBA with a number of teams makes Harris a very valuable commodity elsewhere.

The Nets haven’t made the move to try and re-sign Harris yet, so he is likely to at least test the waters of the free agent market. He’s becoming more efficient as a facilitator when opposing defenders over-commit to him on the perimeter, with a declining turnover rate in each of the last four years in the NBA. His true shooting percentage for his career sits around 61.0.

A Bulls team that needed more efficient three-point shooting this season and more wing depth should look no further than Harris this offseason.
