Thaddeus Young

This year’s free agency was both exciting and “smart”  in reviewing the maneuvering made by GarPax to acquire forward Thaddeus Young. He is the perfect veteran to help Markkanen and Carter grow.

On top of that, Young will be a productive veteran helping the Bulls to win games. He can rebound the ball well, lead the league in charges and provide a solid touch of three-point shooting at 35 percent. Not to mention, Young has a reputation of being a great teammate.

Tomas Satoranksy

Tomas Satoransky is a player none of us likely thought the Washington Wizards would make available. This is a strong sign of good things to come and makes for a solid trade acquisition for the Bulls.

It’s clear that he can handle the point forward position with ease. At 6-foot-7-inches, Satoransky can see well past defenders to provide the Bulls with excellent distribution that ultimately assists Markkanen, Porter, LaVine and Carter. He has proven during his career to be a 40 percent catch-and-shoot, three-point shooter that plays solid perimeter defense.

Grade: A+

Luke Kornet

Big man Luke Kornet was a flat-out steal for the Bulls, as he will be earning a little more than the minimum salary for veteran players in the league. He has attempted 68 percent of his shots from three-point point range and completed about 37 percent of those shots. At the same time, Kornet has shown some athletic ability from behind the free-throw line, enabling him to make a fake/attack to the rim for the slam. He is also a true rim protector.

Kornet is able not only to block shots, but also he has a way of altering them. He reminds me of a young Brook Lopez, which is what the modern NBA is all about.
