9. Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors got significantly worse this summer. Two months ago, it was conceivable that they’d be running it back in the 2019-2020 season with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green.

Now, Kevin Durant is on the Nets, Andre Iguodala is on the Grizzlies and Klay Thompson is set to be sidelined for months with a torn ACL. How quickly things can change.

The good news for the Dubs is they still have one of the best point guards of all time in his prime and one of the best defenders in the league to play alongside him. Also, they added All-Star D’Angelo Russell to their roster. He definitely makes them better.

Russell is elite with the ball in his hands, and Curry is an off-ball terror. Plus, it’s not like Russell can’t play off the ball when needed. He’ll do just fine playing next to Curry. At the bare minimum, Russell will take some pressure off of Steph while the Warriors wait for Thompson’s return.

The Dubs definitely won’t be as good as they’ve been in recent seasons, but they’ll still be pretty dang good.
