Potentially the 2020 draft prospect that will get the most attention out of all in this class is the brother of New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball and is taking his talents to Australia next season, 6-foot-7 guard LaMelo Ball. The size and athleticism that the former SPIRE Academy point guard Ball brings to the table will make him a very polarizing prospect.

NBA scouts will be constantly watching Ball in Australia to see how his skill set is developing and how that will translate to the next level. He needs to improve his all-around shooting efficiency. That will be taken care of by way of developing his shot selection, mechanics, and by playing against elevated competition.

There was less surprise that Ball is taking his talents to Australia instead of playing one season of college basketball than another top 2020 prospect like Hampton. The Ball family is always considered to be a big off-the-court distraction, largely due to the presence of LaVar Ball. But we’ll see how Lonzo and the rest of the Ball family keeps in NOLA.

However, the Washington Wizards might need a new point guard of the future after the Achilles injury that John Wall is still recovering from. Ball adds a ton of size and two-way star potential to the Wizards starting five if he’s able to rise far enough up draft boards to land in the top half of the lottery.
