The upcoming schedule for the Iowa Energy looks like this:

Tuesday: @ Erie BayHawks

Thursday: @ Springfield Armor

Friday: @ Maine Red Claws

Sunday: vs. Idaho Stampede

Erie BayHawks

The Erie BayHawks currently have a record of 24-11 and are coming off a loss to the Energy. So far this season the Energy hold a 2-1 advantage against the BayHawks.

My Prediction: Energy win by 6

Players to watch for:

Ivan Johnson: Johnson has given the Energy trouble in all three meetings this season. Going for 22 points and 7 rebounds the first time they met up and then 31 points and 6 rebounds the next. And this afternoon Johnson went for 30 points and 9 rebounds. Johnson just hasn’t been trouble for Iowa; he’s been trouble for the whole league averaging around 21 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Garrett Temple: Temple is one of the nine players called up by an NBA team this season. Temple earned a 10 day contract with the Milwaukee Bucks and Temple only averaged 1.6 points per game. But gave the Bucks the boost they needed off the bench against the Atlanta Hawks when he went for 8 points and 3 rebounds in a Bucks win.

Springfield Armor

The Springfield Armor are struggling as of late losing five straight games and have an overall record of 10-26. This will be the first time the Energy meet up with the Amor this season.

My Prediction: Energy win by 7.

Player to watch for:

Scottie Reynolds: Reynolds was an All-American last year in college basketball and for some reason went undrafted and found his way to Springfield. Reynolds is averaging 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists per game.

Maine Red Claws

Maine has met up with Iowa once this season and it ended in a 107-108 victory for the Energy. Maine currently hold a 14-23 record.

My Prediction: Energy win by 14.

Player to watch for:

DeShawn Sims: Sims dominated the Energy the last time these two teams met up. He went for 33 points and 10 rebounds. The Energy should look to stop Sims before he can do any serious damage. His averages for the season look like this: 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Idaho Stampede

This will be the first time these two teams meet up this season. Idaho’s record is a shabby 15-21.

My Prediction: Energy win by 11.

Player to watch:

Antoine Walker: Walker is an NBA veteran who decided to sign with the Stampede due to the fact that no NBA team offered him a deal. He came to Idaho on a mission, get back to the NBA and prove he can still play. Walker has been pretty impressive 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. The Energy will need to keep an eye on him.

Three of the four teams have a record less than 0.500%, the Energy should look to win at least three if not four games this week. Let’s hope the Energy can keep the leagues’ best record.
