Chicago Bulls have had a pretty busy offseason so far
The Chicago Bulls have made plenty of moves this offseason. Here’s everything that the Bulls have done so far.
Chicago Bulls ended their 2017-2018 season on April 11th. Prior to the NBA lottery the Bulls had the sixth worst record in the league. The NBA Lottery happened on May 15th, and the organization found out that they will have the seventh, and the 22nd pick in the 2018 NBA draft.
On May 19th, the Chicago Bulls announced that Paul Zipser underwent surgery to repair a broken left foot.
On May 22nd, the NBA announced it’s First and Second All-Rookie teams for the 2017-2018 season. Lauri Markkanen was named First team All-Rookie.
On June 19th, Paul Zipser told a German newspaper that he doesn’t think he will be back with the Chicago Bulls.
The 2018 NBA draft was on June 21st, and the Chicago Bulls kept both of their picks. With their seventh pick, the Bulls decided to draft Wendell Carter Jr from Duke. With their 22nd pick, the Chicago Bulls drafted Chandler Hutchison from Boise State.
On June 28nd, The Chicago Bulls issued a qualifying offer to David Nwaba, Ryan Arcidiacono, and Zach LaVine. It ensured that all three become restricted free agents. Noah Vonleh didn’t receive a qualifying offer. K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reported that the Bulls have discussed a multiyear contract extension offer with Bobby Portis.
On July 3rd, The Chicago Bulls officaly signed Wendell Carter Jr. and Chandler Hutchison both to their rookie contracts.
At 7:04 pm CT on July 6th, Zach LaVine signed a four-year, $78M offer sheet with the Sacramento Kings. The deal included a full guarantee with no options. An hour and fifty minutes after Zach signed with the Kings, the Bulls decided to match the Kings offer sheet.
On July 7th, The Chicago Bulls made a three team trade with the Hornets and Magic. The Bulls traded Jerian Grant to Orlando, while in return they got Julyan Stone.
On July 8th, the Bulls officially matched the Kings offer sheet.
"“We were excited last summer when we got a dynamic athlete in Zach LaVine through the trade, and we’re excited now that we get to keep him,” said John Paxson, Chicago Bulls Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations. “We’re thrilled to keep Zach on this Bulls team moving forward.”"
On July 12nd, the Bulls waived guard Sean Kilpatrick. Later on that day, the Bulls rescinded their qualifying offer for David Nwaba.
At 5:06 pm CT on July 13th, the Bulls were progressing on an offer sheet to restricted free agent Jabari Parker. An hour and 30 minutes later, the Chicago Tribune reported that the Bulls are close to signing Jabari to a deal.
At 11:06 am CT on July 14th, ESPN reported that Jabari Parker agreed to a two year deal worth $40M with the Bulls. A couple of hours later the Bulls officially announced the signing of Jabari Parker. The Bulls also waived Paul Zipser and Julyan Stone.

On July 17th, the Chicago Bulls rescinded their qualifying offer to Ryan Arcidiacono. Rookie Wendell Carter Jr was named to All-NBA Summer League First team. Wendell averaged 14.6 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game in Summer League.
On July 18th, the Chicago Tribune reported that the Bulls plan on signing Antonio Blakeney to an NBA deal. A day later the Bulls officially signed Antonio Blakeney to a two year deal.
