The Chicago Bulls fell to the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of their playoff series 104-87. Chicago was without starting point guard Rajon Rondo and his departure from the lineup hurt them.

The Chicago Bulls found out Friday morning that they were going to be with out their starting point guard Rajon Rondo. Rondo has been pivotal in the series against Boston nearly averaging a triple double in the first two games.

Losing Rondo proved costly as Chicago dropped Game 3 in the United Center to the Boston Celtics.

The Bulls missed Rondo’s offensive aggression and his knack for crashing the boards. His replacements Jerian Grant and Michael Carter-Williams both had very poor outings.

In a game where Chicago need Jimmy Butler to really step up he didn’t. Avery Bradley contained him well and never really let Butler find a scoring or creating rhythm.

The Bulls had a nice second quarter to keep them selves from getting blown out early. It was the only quarter in which they outscored Boston and they couldn’t carry that momentum into the second half.

Chicago let Boston back into the series when they could have really pushed them into a hole. To drop your first game at home is always deflating and won’t fill the team with confidence going forward.
