Here’s five takeaways from the Chicago Bulls’ 94-87 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night in Chicago.

19 straight for the TNT Thursday version of the Chicago Bulls.

Behind a bounce-back showing from Jimmy Butler and the surprising Bobby Portis, the #TNTBulls defeated the Kevin Durant-less Golden State Warriors to win their 19th straight home game when playing in a TNT Thursday doubleheader.

Butler led all Bulls scorers with 22 points, five rebounds, six assists and four steals, while Portis contributed 17 points and 13 rebounds in 31 minutes of action against the-now 50-11 Warriors, who were playing without the 2014 NBA MVP for the first time since he hyperextended his knee in a loss to the Washington Wizards earlier this week.

As you’d expected, it was another weird Thursday at the Madhouse on Madison, as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined to shoot 15-for-49 from the field on the night, including just 3-for-22 from 3-point range.

Yeah, it was that bad for them, and for the Bulls for that matter for most of the night. It was an ugly game, but a game that the Bulls came out on top of for their third win in the first four games after the All-Star break.

Here’s five takeaways from the Bulls’ strange and surprising upset of the league’s best team, starting with their backcourt pairing.
