There are a few select times of the year that things get really exciting in the NBA. Most of them have to do with player movement – the trade deadline, the draft, the opening of free agency. One special weekend stands out from the rest, the All-Star Weekend. It’s time to look at what this all means for the Chicago Bulls.

Sure, players might be on the move this weekend, however unlikely that may be. For the most part, this is a time for a majority of NBA players and coaches to catch their breath for the home stretch. On the other hand, a few select players comprised mostly of the biggest and brightest names in the league gather to celebrate how cool and good at both sports and marketing they are at this point in time.

The celebration is much more than just an All-Star Game held on a Sunday in February where the concept of defense is as foreign as a dead language. It’s a time for rising stars to shine, for the chosen to flash their skills, marksmen to knock down 3s and monsters to shatter reality with the sickest of dunks. There is also a celebrity event, but no thanks.

This year, Jimmy Butler will be the lone Chicago representative at the event. No other Bull made the Rising Stars Challenge, the Skills Challenge, the 3-Point Contest (lol), the Dunk Contest or the All-Star Game itself.

Over at Pippen Ain’t Easy, we’ve already started to feel the itch from no competitive basketball and allowed ourselves to get caught up in All-Star fever, so we decided to share our thoughts on the All-Star qualities of the Bulls.
