It looks like Chicago Bulls shooting guard Jimmy Butler will not be accompanying the Chicago Bulls on their six-game road trip because of a sprained right big toe know as Turf Toe. According to USA Today, MRI exams confirmed Butler’s injury and is listed as week-to-week, the team made the announcment Wednesday. This news comes as a downer for Bulls fans knowing what he does for the team.
So far this season he has averaged 11.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.8 steals in only 29.8 minutes. It’s not only the fans that understand the importance of Butler on this team. Fellow Bulls’ teammate Derrick Rose stated on Tuesday according to ESPN Chicago:
Jimmy is someone we’re definitely going to miss, especially with his energy and defense, and he’s been knocking down shots,” Rose said. “But the way our team is, if one guy goes down, the other guy’s got to step up and do a great job. And that’s Mike Dunleavy, Kirk, myself when I play the 2, and we just got to fill in for him.
That’s right! The players on the Bulls team must step up in Butler’s absence to ensure there are no setbacks in the teams progress. The times when a player goes down can be the toughest, but Chicago must ban together and prove they can overcome any challenge brought their way!
