Miami Heat 107, Chicago Bulls 95: Carlos Boozer gets the game ball

Game ball: Carlos Boozer

The Chicago Bulls may have fallen to the Miami Heat in their season opener, but there was still plenty of promise to build upon in this game as they fought and challenged the Heat’s lead. Despite playing flat and lackluster, the Bulls were able to to cut the Heat’s lead to striking distance many times and stuck around thanks to the efforts of Carlos Boozer’s performance, which garnishes him with tonight’s game ball.

Boozer racked an impressive 31 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block to begin this season’s pursuit of a championship. He shot the ball very well in going 13-18 in the 32 minutes of action tonight. Additionally, he made his presence known in the paint as he played gritty in bringing a noticeable physicality against the Heat’s bigs.

If Boozer can produce these types of numbers this season, the Bulls can look to recover from this loss and come back with a better offensive performance in their next game against the New York Knicks on Halloween night. Tonight was only game one of a very long NBA season and there is still a lot of fight in this promising Bulls team.
