Hello everyone! Welcome to the beginning of our series on reasons why we’re excited for the 2013-14 Chicago Bulls. There will be a minimum of five posts in this series, this one and four others, with more coming as we think of them. We’re also soliciting reasons why you are excited for the Bulls, so sound off in the comments, on Twitter and on Facebook. The more suggestions we get, the more posts we’ll do.

I don’t remember precisely when this was, but at some point friend of PAE Brian Schroeder pointed out on Twitter that Jimmy Butler was arguably the most athletic wing player the Bulls have had since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. That’s athletic in the more colloquial sense — running fast and jumping high, etc.

My initial reaction was to laugh, but I thought about it and quite honestly, I’m having trouble coming up with any other candidates. John Salmons, maybe? I have no idea.

So, as fun as Jimmy was this season — and he was really, really fun — let’s take a moment to imagine him and Derrick Rose playing together. Getting out on the break, throwing alley oops to each other…

It would, ideally look something like this:

So, you know. That’s kinda cool.

48 days, folks.  Make sure to grab your Bulls tickets now before it’s too late.

I think people are gonna see real soon, that JB is an all-star calibre player.
No….he ain’t Jordan or Pippen…..but he is the real deal!

I don’t think anyone would even put Butler in the same sentence with MJ or Pippen. Real Bull fans are expecting Butler just to be Butler. Yea and you are right he is the real deal and this season of starting will get all the doubters to stop harping about the Bulls needing a 2 guard
