As the Chicago Bulls visit the nation’s capital to take on the Washington Wizards, they’ll do it without the same four players they’ve been without since last week: Joakim Noah, Marco Belinelli, Rip Hamilton and — of course — Derrick Rose.
Belinelli is still officially questionable but seems unlikely to play. K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune tweeted this morning that Belinelli said he still has pain after suffering an abdominal injury last week.
Noah, meanwhile, has declared himself out, according to ESPN Chicago.
“Not yet,” Noah said of his availability for Tuesday. “But soon, probably in the next couple games (I’ll) try to come back.”
Both players said they are feeling better.
“My foot’s getting there so (I’m) just taking it slow and just trying to get back, trying to get to 100 percent,” Noah said.
The Bulls have done pretty well of late, even without Noah and Belinelli. They’ve won four of their last five, including wins over the Indiana Pacers and Miami heat, who currently occupy the top two spots in the East standings. Their only loss came to a red-hot Dallas Mavericks team in the final seconds. Jimmy Butler and Nazr Mohammed have done a solid job in filling in for Noah and Belinelli. Hopefully that continues tonight.
