All right, Bulls fans, we have good news and bad news. The good news is Derrick Rose is officially listed as day-to-day on the Chicago Bulls injury report.
(Waits for the cheering to die down…)
(Still waiting…)
Right. Now, the bad news is being listed as day-to-day is essentially meaningless under Tom Thibodeau. It doesn’t really seem like he’ll be back for tomorrow’s game in San Antonio, but beyond that? He could basically come back any time in the next month, for all we know.

If we look at Thibs’ history with players being listed day-to-day, we see the listing has absolutely nothing to do with the severity of the injury or how soon the player will be back. Rose himself was listed as day-to-day for most of a month last spring with a groin injury, not to mention how Kirk Hinrich has essentially been listed as day-to-day for the entire year to this point.
