Kirk Hinrich will once again have to miss a game with his recurring elbow injury as the Chicago Bulls take on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Hinrich missed several games prior to the all-star break with a cut on his elbow that got infected, but the problem appeared to be behind him when he returned for the Bulls’ first game after the break against the New Orleans Hornets. However, he apparently reopened the cut during that game and has since missed the last two games.
Hinrich has missed 14 of the Bulls 56 games this season and his continued status as a game-time decision has become a running joke at SBNation’s Blog-A-Bull. Kirk’s disappearance for the entirety of a couple of road trips led them to ask if he’d fallen into a well. I’m not conveying this joke properly, but it’s entertaining. Well, to me, anyway.
The point being: god knows when Hinrich will be back, so we might as well get used to relying on Nate Robinson and Marquis Teague for the time being. Alas.
