The folks over ad adidas are in the midst of hyping Derrick Rose’s return to basketball with an eight part series they’re dubbing “The Return of D.Rose”.
Episode 2 was just released and it features Rose on yet another leg of his return journey.
Just about any footage of Derrick Rose playing anything remotely close to basketball is enough to get Bulls fans hyped up for his return, but Rose spoke about his return in the second episode and here’s a little of what he had to say.
“The whole time the playoffs was going on I only watched a couple of games from every series, but I wasn’t into it like I was if I was playing. I know that’s going to push me to work even harder … thinking of them winning the championship. It’s just going to drive me and I know I’m gonna have another year.”
Rose goes on to say that the injury won’t stop him from not only entertaining the masses of fans in Chicago, but from supporting his family.
“It’s just a blessing. A real blessing to see that this injury can’t stop me. Basketball changed everybody’s lives that was around me. We was able to see the whole world – be with each other – that’s one of the reason why we so close because we’ve been hooping with each other since we was in sixth grade. So you have like a brotherhood.”
Adidas will be releasing the commercials throughout the lead-up to the basketball season and more importantly to Rose’s return to the hardwood. It’s not much, but it’s still showing that even though the injury was roughly 3 months ago, we’re far past the point of mourning Rose and to the point of anticipating his return.
