The Chicago Bulls And Tom Thibodeau Are Finally Talking Contract Again

When the news broke out earlier this season that Tom Thibodeau and the Chicago Bulls had put a stop to contract negotiations, Bulls fans couldn’t help but get a little edgy. Considering that Jerry Reinsdorf might have finally entered his prime in penny-pinching, the idea of Thibs walking away because of an embarrassingly low offer crossed the minds of Chicagoans at least once.

However, sources say that the Bulls and Thibodeau are once again talking. Unsurprisingly, Jeff Van Gundy had something to say about the situation as well. Via Nick Friedell of ESPNChicago:

If I was them and Tom agreed to what Scott Brooks got (a reported four-year deal worth approximately $18 million), the whole thing would take 25 seconds. It’s a no-brainer … My thing is he’s an elite coach and should be paid like one.

We might not like to hear what JVG has to say most of the time, but it’s hard to argue this claim.
