He spent one game back before we got news we are all too familiar hearing about Derrick Rose.

At some point during the Bulls 100-99 loss to the Knicks, Rose tweaked his ankle. The full extent of the injury is unknown but sources close to the Bulls say Rose left Madison Square Garden in a walking boot. Rose is a game time decision for tonight’s game against the Knicks in Chicago.

This latest injury comes as Rose’s fourth of the season in a fourth different location. Up to this point Rose’s injury laden season has seen injuries to his toe, back, groin and now his ankle.

It comes at a time Rose was also just retuning after missing 12 consecutive games. The reigning MVP has missed 22 games tis year and was coming back at the most crucial time in the Bulls season thus far.

With the Heat just 2 games behind, the question now becomes yet again do the Bulls start Rose tonight against the Knicks and risk further injuring his ankle or do they rest him, take whatever results may come from the game and try to get him as fresh as possible for Thursday’s über-matchup with the Miami Heat?

If the Bulls want to win in the  playoffs then they need Rose to be healthy. So far this season that’s been the hardest thing to do and if it continues into the playoffs then this season may end up being an injury-riddled wash.
