Pippen Ain't Easy Halftime Report: Bulls 62, Nets 37

Bulls 62, Nets 37 — HALFTIME

NEWARK — If you thought the Nets were a bad basketball team before, then boy have they fallen even more out of favor after allowing 62 points in the first half to Chicago.

To rub salt in the wound, the Nets have allowed over half a hundred at halftime with Derrick Rose, the Bulls most potent scorer, having just 4 points. Rose left the game with a back injury and is doubtful to return. But then again it’s Derrick Rose, he won’t sit even if he has to.

With Rose out of the action for the most part, it’s been a collective effort for the Bulls with almost everyone on the cusp of finishing the game in double digits. As usual, Luol Deng is pulling the weight, heading to half with 13 points but no rebounds. Deng is clearly not wanting to be aggressive with re-injuring his wrist on the line.

As for the rest of the team, Chicago is defining spreading the love. Almost all of their 14 rebounds are spread between Carlos Boozer, Joakim Noah, C.J. Watson and Omer Asik who all have three. Taj Gibson and Kyle Korver each have one.

But the story is the Bulls are getting things done largely without Rose being an factor which is huge, albeit against a horrible team.

For Nets fans, they are seeing just how badly they need Dwight Howard in New Jersey (Soon to be Brooklyn) as they are just horrible in shooting despite put rebounding the Bulls but two.

Chicago badly needed to make it three in a row and baring an unforeseen collapse, of which one would be just the worst kind of failure to execute, the Bulls are looking at an easy ride into their next matchup in New Orleans.
