WASHINGTON D.C — Derrick Rose vowed pregame that’d he’d “go crazy” tonight and that’s exactly what was the case. As was the case Friday, the Washington Wizards bore the brunt of the Bulls anger at losing a heartbreaker yesterday to the Heat.
Rose exploded for his second straight game of thirty or more points finishing with 35 and 8 assists.
Joakim Noah finished with a respectable game as well posting his fifth straight double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Tom Thibodeau sat Richard Hamilton tonight opting to start Kyle Korver yet again. Korver’s first start since 2009 came on Friday and it was underwhelming to say the least. But Korver earned his stripes playing 45 minutes against the Wizards on Monday scoring 17 and dishing 5 assists.
But the story is Rose because — well he’s Derrick Rose, the leagues MVP. But it’s even more so about him because if how he failed in the clutch yesterday against the Heat. Rose made up for it tonight as the Bulls move on to an Eastern Conference best 18-5.
Rose shot 50 percent from the field and was 14 for 15 from the stripe.
The Bulls as a team shot 45 percent and made a total of 31 trips to the line finishing at 77 percent.
The Bulls get a day off before battling the far above average Philadelphia Sixers in the City of Brotherly Love. The Bulls more importantly got their first win of this nine game road trip and have shed the jitters of the loss yesterday.
But don’t expect the Bulls, or Rose, to slow. In no way does a ten point win over the Wizards –a team who has lost 16 of 20– cancel out a four point loss to Miami.
A sleeping giant has been awoken and right now the wrecking crew is on tour.
