CLEVELAND — Derrick Rose had been listed as inactive for Friday nights matchup with the Cavaliers.
Rose injured his toe, which is now being called turf toe, over a week ago against the Timberwolves. Rose has missed three of the last five games for the Bulls coming into Friday.
It’s probably in the Bulks best interest to sit Rose given the location of the injury and its effect on his mobility.
Also the Bulls have a rough 9-game road trip coming soon which sees them play games in Miami, Boston and New Jersey among other games the Bulls will desperately need Rose.
Sitting him against teams that pose no real threat is the best move for the future for Chicago.
C.J Watson will be making his second straight start in place of the injured Rose. Watson, who himself just returned from an injury, started Tuesday night for the Bulls as well.
