Bulls Bullets: Hamilton Out, Bogans Waived
CHICAGO — As the Bulls get set to play the Indiana Pacers in their preseason opener, here are some Bulls Bullets from Chicago and around the NBA to chew on while you roast those pre game Bull Dogs. The Chicago Bulls have waived guard Keith Bogans a week after he was pulled form practice due to contract concerns. Bogans had a team option on the last year of his contract but it exceeded the league minimum. If Bogans clears waivers he is free to sign with whomever he pleases. The Bulls also waived guard Jannero Pargo today. The signing of [...]

Ronnie Brewer to Start Tonight
INDIANA — Richard Hamilton is the newest piece of machinery for this Bulls locomotive trying to chug its way to a championship, but he won’t be starting in the first NBA game for the Bulls since their embarrassing exit to last year’s playoffs. Instead, Ronnie Brewer gets the nod from coach Tom Thibodeau. Brewer was a big piece of the Bench Mob last season, coming off the bench to relieve Keith Bogans of his duties numerous times. Brewer split two guard time last season with Bogans and fellow Bench Mob mate Kyle Korver. Brewer was a dark horse favorite to be [...]
Bulls Have Best Starting Five in the NBA
CHICAGO — As the Bulls prepare to do battle for the first time this season (albeit in a preseason exhibition game), they will be doing with a new face in the starting lineup. The Bulls officially signed ex-Piston Richard “Rip” Hamilton to a 3 year deal and with the championship veteran in the lineup, the question is now begged: do the Chicago Bulls have the best starting five in the NBA? Of course there is Derrick Rose and he instantly makes any lineup he is in markably better, but when you break down what else the Bulls are throwing out [...]

Derrick Rose Extended; Bulls Give MVP Max Contract
CHICAGO — The Bulls continue to spend money in areas they need rather then areas they want. It was going to happen and now we are in the preliminary stages of Derrick Rose signing a max contract extension to keep the regaining MVP in Chicago through 2016. It’s being announced as a formality deal, but it’s pretty much a done deal. Bulls management is expected to announce a 5 year, $94 million extension for Rose, who at 22 has already been to two All-Star games and has an MVP under his belt. A new rule in the CBA helped boost [...]
Bulls Bring Back “White Mamba” Brian Scalabrine
CHICAGO — He’s baaaaack. Despite reaming largely quiet during free agency in terms of flashy names, the Bulls have resigned Brian Scalabrine — a fan favorite — to an undisclosed contract. Remaining in-house when assembling a championship caliber team is always a good thing to do — especially when the pieces are already championship caliber. The Bulls haven’t made huge splashes in free agency — they’ll be signing both Rip Hamilton and Derrick Rose shortly — but they’ve been productive signings. Another of those signings comes with the announcement that Chicago has brought back fan favorite Scalabrine. Scalabrine has been [...]
CHICAGO — It’s been a busy few days for the Chicago Bulls who have been virtually silent since the offseason began Friday. The Bulls haven’t been the free spenders they were last year, and instead have stayed focused on their top two priorities this offseason. Now it seems that both of those priorities — both of which have become obvious moves — have been taken care of. The first of which was the extension of Derrick Rose’s contract. Although nothing has been officially announced, Pippen Ain’t Easy has learned that the deal is over a five year period and is [...]
