Preview: Frank Vogel enters his first full season as the Pacers head coach with high expectations. After taking over the team last year he led them to a playoff berth and a first round matchup with the Chicago Bulls. Vogel is adamant that the Pacers were the better team and should not have lost and carries that mantra into this season. Indiana beefed up its frontcourt by adding ex-Hornet David West in front of Tyler Hansbrough. The Bucks gave the Pacers a run for their money at the end of the season but with the likes of Darren Collison, Danny Granger, Roy Hibbert and Paul George the Pacers have only gotten better. Built like the Bulls they will be a stout defensive team with a flashy offense. How well that system works in Indiana is yet to be seen, but the potential is no doubt there for the Pacers to repeat a lot of the success they had late last season. Plus, with the condensed season ready to ware teams down to the bone, Indiana may even be able to steal a few games and if the stars align, satisfy the Vogel Prophecy and maybe –and this is a HUGE maybe — overthrow the Bulls or at least give them a run for their money.
