NBA Lockout: Player's Reject Deal; Union Begins Disbandment

NEW YORK — The NBA Player’s Union rejected a deal that would have ended the lockout because they have deemed the deal ‘unsatisfactory’ and ‘unfair’.

The two sides met in New York today to try and sort out a deal but the players are crying foul on the part of the owners and are now beginning to do what we all feared would happen: the union is disbanding and filing for decertification.

“It’s just a big charade.” said Stern in an interview today. “To do it now, the union is ratcheting up I guess to see if they can scare the NBA owners or something. That’s not happening.”

-David Stern on the status of the NBA Union

However, David Stern is now the one calling the bluffs and is claiming that the union is just blowing hot air and trying to intimidate the owners into accepting a deal that is worse for them.

You know, kind of like what David Stern has been doing for the past four months?

So now the master manipulator is coming out and saying straight faced and flat out that the union will not disband and desertification will not happen.

“It’s just a big charade.” said Stern in an interview today. “To do it now, the union is ratcheting up I guess to see if they can scare the NBA owners or something. That’s not happening.”

But the threat is now a real possibility, even more so then it was a few days ago when this was all heresay.

“They seem hell-bent on self-destruction and it’s very sad,” Stern said.

Before I vomit from disgust all over the place let me say this: Stern is indeed a real master at manipulation. We all need to take a step back and credit Stern with what he deserves and that’s the first place trophy in deception.

But to come out and say the things he’s saying and to bascially call out the players for playing his game is stupid, childish and it’s proof we will not have basketball this season.
I was trying to make a bad joke when I called Stern a teenaged girl desperately crying out for attention but with his latest comments, I have only this to say: I told you so.

Stern is throwing a fit because the players won’t accept his garbage deal and weren’t intimidated by his petty threats. And now that the players are putting the shoe on the other foot, he’s just boiling with rage.

It’s funny to watch, but once you realize that we are watching the 2011-12 NBA season die with Stern’s comments, the reality and the depressing fact of a year with no basketball far out weighs any joy taken from watching Stern squirm like the worm he is.
