Do You Remember: Jay Williams
Do You Remember? is a new series from PIPPEN AIN’T EASY that highlights former Chicago Bulls who didn’t ever make headlines or legendary stints with the Bulls, but nevertheless gave their sweat and blood to be a part of Bulls Nation. The Almost Superstar: Jay Williams It seems like not that long ago the Chicago Bulls were trying to rebuild and repeat the success of their massive 1990′s championship campaign. After the dissolvement of the Michael Jordan era in Chicago after 1997, the Bull went into rebuilding mode and actually came away with some gems in hindsight. They never seemed able [...]

NEW YORK — With less than 24 hours left to reach a deal that would save NBA games this season, the owners and the union will meet later tonight in a last ditch effort to reach an agreement. A source with knowledge of the meetings told The New York Times earlier today David Stern, Billy Hunter and other reps will meet in New York with only hours left to save games. NEW YORK — The NBA owners and Players Union need to have a deal in place by Monday in order to save the first two weeks of the NBA season and it appears that will not happen. Top NBA sources have told ESPN that the Player’s Union and the Owners cannot meet on the conditions of a meeting and will not reach a deal before the Monday deadline to save the season. The deal-breaker remains the spit in the BRI (Basketball Related Income) and who gets a higher percentage. The players received a 57 percent cut under the previous deal and have [...]
Agents Relax Militant Attitude Towards Hunter, Union
NEW YORK — Seven NBA Agents whom sent out a scathing letter critical of Union head Billy Hinter, have relaxed their militant stance and anti-union rhetoric and have backed off from their hard push for player deseritifcation. The cooling of the agents heated stance came after many of their clients, whom the assumed they were helping, lashed out at them for basically butting in where they had no right to. A conference call between the seven agents to discuss their future plans was held today and it was at this conference call the attitude towards the union shifted to a [...]
NEW YORK – Arn Tellem, Bill Duffy, Dan Fegan, Jeff Schwartz, Leon Rose, Henry Thomas and Mark Bartelstein. Remember those names, for they are a major reason why there is so much tension in the current NBA Lockout. Those seven agents sent a letter to the players which is, as sources call it, ’very critical’ of Union head Billy Hunter’s leadership. The agents have been hardcore behind the scenes advocates of player desertification, much like the NFLPA did during it’s lockout this summer. A conference call was scheduled for 2pm this afternoon, at which the agents will discuss their next moves. Anyone [...]
Preseason Cancelled; Regular Season is Next
NEW YORK — The NBA world was waiting on pins and needles to hear whether or not the threat of game cancellations would come to fruition as feared last weekend. The games still remain on the schedule but a new deadline has been put into place and this one (unlike the phoney David Stern threat from this past weekend) should be taken very seriously. It was hard to take last weekends threat seriously because the actual threat itself was made during the week, which was still the month of September. This new one comes closer to a realistic date that would make it possible for games to [...]
Luol Deng Gets Face on England Currency
BRIXTON, ENGLAND — The NBA may be locked out and the paychecks may not be coming in, but that doesn’t bother Luol Deng. The Chicago Bull doesn’t need money because his face is being put onto the money. Brixton, England is celebrating their fellow British celebrities by putting their faces on the Five Pound note. Deng is joining the likes of David Bowie and WWII secret agent Violette Szabo. It’s safe to say Deng is in pretty high ranks with this latest promotion. The five pound note isn’t really a large bill in England and it’s not as if Deng is replacing the Queen, but [...]
NBA2K12 and the NBA Lockout: The Review
CHICAGO — The latest edition of the NBA2K franchise is getting wide release today and the question is being begged as to how a basketball game can come out at a time when the sport itself is locked out. Last year’s NBA2K11 was perhaps one of the greatest sports games to come out in the history of video games. From it’s deep gameplay to the various sub-plot games you can play the whole package was there last year. However, the NBA was there last year too and when the game’s 2012 incarnation comes out the players are technically not even a part of the league. This causes obvious [...]
