CHICAGO — The Bulls aren’t letting the lockout stop them from hyping what is a highly anticipated 2011-12 season for them. Earlier last month, the full regular season schedules were released which saw the Bulls nab a ton of very intriguing matchups. One thing many took away from the schedule were the amount of Nationally Televised games the Bulls had. The number then was 29 national TV games, and with the release of the full television schedule the number has ballooned to 48 games. That means those living outside of the greater Chicagoland area will be able to watch over half [...]
NBA Lockout: Two Sides to Meet Next Week
NEW YORK — The wait for basketball still drags on but every time there is even a droplet of news, it is viewed positively. The report that the NBA and the Union are planning on meeting next week can be viewed as the most positive news to come out of the lockout yet. It will be the first time since July 1st that leaders from both sides have met and it couldn’t come at a more dire time in terms of getting the NBA season started on time. It seems like a fading dream to start on time, but it’s not over [...]
Derrick Rose’s MVP Tour All About Fun
GUANGZHOU, CHINA — Basketball may not be in session, but the Derrick Rose MVP tour is in full throttle mode. Rose is making stops all across China in an Adidas promo tour that is spreading Bulls love all over the globe and strengthening Bulls Nation’s loyal fan following. This week, Rose was in Guangzhou, China at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium to hold a basketball clinic for nearly 1,000 fans. The Bulls MVP also played emcee during the Adidas Summer League South Conference Finals where he was the one handing out MVP trophies to the tournament’s top players. Rose was joined by Hong Kong singer//songwriter [...]
CHICAGO — Rasual Butler, a late season addition for the Bulls last year is also a late offseason addition for Gran Canaria, an ACB League team in Spain. The intersting part is Butler’s supposed NBA Opt-Out clause in his contract. There are conflicting reports about whether or not it actually exists within the confines of Butler’s contract. The Opt-Out clause would meant that Butler, who isn’t currently under contract for an NBA team, would be able to opt-out of his contract with Gran Canaria to return to the NBA should the lockout ever end. On Monday it was reported that [...]
Deng, Boozer to Play in Europe
CHICAGO — With the NBA Lockout freezing the league in carbonite like Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back, the question of whether or not NBA Players under contract should be allowed to play overseas has become violently relevant. Derron Williams was arguably the first big name to decide he’d rather try his luck across the pond than sit around in limbo waiting for NBA basketball. The floodgates burst open after that as everybody and anybody is trying to secure some sort of contract overseas, whether it be for the money or for (chuckles) the ‘love of the game’. The potential [...]
Bulls Release Preseason Schedule
CHICAGO — The Bulls aren’t letting the current NBA Lockout derail their information train. The Bulls released their Preseason schedule’s yesterday despite the fact those games, as are regular season ones as well, are in severe jeopardy. Don’t hold your breath or bet any of your life savings that these dates, or the games, will even occur for the Bulls, but it’s nice to day-dream about what might be. They open against Micheal Jordan’s Charlotte Bobcats at home in the United Center on October 10th. An interesting game on the schedule would entail the Bulls to (hypothetically, sadly) travel to Souix Falls, SD to take [...]
