Bulls Hit Stride: Take 2-1 Series Lead
ATLANTA — If you were engaged in a drinking game where you drink when the Bulls show up, you may now drink. It took 7 games but the Bulls finally looked like they should have the entire playoffs thus far. The Bulls took a two 2-1 series lead with their win in Atlanta Friday moving closer to not only closing the series but regaining their swagger. Derrick Rose looked like he had his explosiveness back blasting the Hawks for 44 points and nearly 60% shooting. Rose felt he had his game back too. “[I was] just attacking the whole game,” [...]
Derrick Rose Sprains Ankle….Again
CHICAGO — It’s news Bulls fans didn’t think they’d have to hear again so soon: Derrick Rose sprained his ankle in Monday nights loss to the Hawks. The play that resulted in said injury occurred at the end of the game when Derrick Rose stepped on Jamal Crawford’s foot, turning his ankle. Rose immediately went down and had to be helped off the court by trainers. “Don’t know [what happened], just came over, tried to steal the ball,” Rose said. “Twisted it somehow.” The ankle Rose sprained was the exact same ankle he sprained against the Pacers in a game [...]
Derrick Rose named NBA MVP
CHICAGO — It’s a bitter sweet moment for Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls but don’t mistake that for a bad thing. He will get the official announcement tomorrow and will be presented the awarding front of the United Center crowd during Game 2 on Wednesday. This comes after the Bulls suffered an opening game loss to the Hawks on Monday in which Rose actually re-injured himself in the closing minutes. But Rose didn’t [...]
What a Hawk Job: Hawks take 1-0 Series Lead
CHICAGO — All assertions that the Bulls were simply bitten by the jitter bug in their first series were violently dismissed by Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks Monday. The Hawks used a blueprint drawn up by the Pacers to overcome the heavily favored Bulls in Game 1 by a score of 103-95. They used two big keys to succeed that anyone halfway paying attention to the Bulls could have picked out: they used the mismatch of Keith “Bogus” Bogans and company on Joe Johnson to their advantage and they took Derrick Rose out of the game. It was the [...]
Interview with Soaring Down South
The guys over at Soaring Down South recently interviewed Pippen Ain’t Easy about the Bulls-Hawks series. Here’s what the interview resulted in; enjoy! Clipped from: soaringdownsouth.com (share this clip)
If the Bulls have the advantage at Center, the Hawks even it out with the advantage at Shooting Guard. The matchup: Keith Bogans and Co. (CHI) vs. Joe Johnson (ATL) Joe Johnson Keith “Bogus” Bogans is not. Johnson is pure offensive scoring for the Hawks and is a huge reason why they are where they are. The same can not be said about Bogans. As much of lopsided advantage Joakim Noah is over Collins and Pachulia, Johnson reigns supreme over Bogans. The Bulls guard will have to contain Johnson early if he is to have a chance. It’s not set [...]
