Bulls Crush Hawks; Pull Within 1/2 Game of Celtics
CHICAGO — The Bulls continued to make themselves known as a force in the East by avenging their 83-80 loss to the Hawks. This time around, there was no second half implosion, rather an explosion as the Bulls crushed Atlanta 94-76 inside the United Center. This game had more importance than just a win over the Hawks; coupled with the Celtics loss against the 76ers, Chicago has pulled within a 1/2 game of the Celtics for the Eastern Conference’s best record. With a win tomorrow against the Jazz (which is a Pippen Ain’t Easy Cover It Live event) the Bulls [...]
PAE Interview: Marqus Blakely
Marqus Blakely is a product of Vermont University and is currently a member of the Iowa Energy. Blakely was acquired by the Energy via trade, the Energy sent their 2011 First Round Draft Pick to the Bakersfield Jam in exchange for Blakely. Blakely is averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds per game this season. ZH: What is the D-League life like? MB: D-League life is good; it gives you a lot of exposure to NBA scouts. At the same time it is a grind because of travel schedule. Hopefully it will pay off with a call up. ZH: Who’s the [...]
Bulls Clinch Central; Eye Celtics Top Spot
CHICAGO — In other sports, the typical thing to do when a playoff spot is clinched is to rest your players. Not Chicago. The Bulls have the Central Division all wrapped up with 19 games to go. But the Chicago is showing no signs of stopping anytime soon. They just last week leap frogged the Miami Heat after eyeballing their second seed positioning all year. Chicago has now turned full speed ahead towards Boston’s top spot in the East, a position the Bulls are only 1.5 games out of. Chicago is molten lava right now. They’ve arguably been the best team in [...]
Second Coming in the Second City
CHARLOTTE — The Chicago Bulls are on a tear as they roll into Charlotte tonight to take on the Bobcats. There’s not telling just how to the game will go (the Bulls have a tendency to be on a hot streak and have it derailed by a sub-par team) but the chances things stay golden for the Bulls is pretty good. They didn’t fair well against the Bobcats in their last meeting, but that’s when the Bulls were in third place in the East. This time, it’s different. With the Heat’s flame flickering and their chances at good playoff positioning dwindling, Chicago is watching [...]

Game Recap: Iowa Energy vs. Idaho Stampede
The Iowa Energy suffered a 144-112 loss to the Idaho Stampede Sunday afternoon. (Their first loss since I began covering them here at PAE.) You cannot blame the Energy though, the Stampede shot 56% from the field and scored 76, yes, 76 points in the first half alone. Adding insult to injury the Stampede shot 50% from the three point line. It was ugly the whole game, even at points where Idaho was up by as many as 40 points. Another key point to make is that the Energy lost Othyus Jeffers who was a big scorer and playmaker. (Jeffers [...]
Bulls Scorch Heat; Claim 2nd in East
MIAMI — Did you feel that? No it wasn’t an earthquake. It was the earth shaking from the Bulls slamming the Heat into check in Miami. The Bulls rolled into Miami hot off their Friday night win over the Magic and they carried that momentum into AmericanAirlines Arena Sunday. But it almost wasn’t. The game came down to the wire and it was a missed last second shot by Dwayne Wade that sealed the deal for Chicago. But a win is a win and this particular W puts the Bulls above their previous season win total by a two, and put them [...]
