Danger-East: Knicks Acquire Melo

NEW YORK – The Eastern Conference was tough enough before for the Bulls but now you can add a third team to the lost of teams the Bulls have to watch. The New York Knicks were the team the bottle stopped on as they are the team to finally settle the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes and acquire the All-Star Forward.

The 3-team trade is as follows:

Knicks Get: Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams, Renaldo Balkman, Anthony Carter, Corey Brewer

Nuggets Get: Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Timofey Mozgov, Knicks 2014 1st Round Pick, Warriors 2012 2nd Round pick, Warriors 2013 2nd Round Pick, $3 Million cash

Timberwolves Get: Anthony Randolph, Eddy Curry, $3 million in cash

Melo joins a roster with fellow teammate Chauncey Billups that includes All-Star Amare Stoudemire. The Knicks currently sit at 28-26 which is 6th best in the East. This can be a real double edged sword for the Bulls as the Bulls do play the Knicks one more time, but the Knicks also play the Heat one more time and Boston twice so a little wrench can be thrown into their hopes of earning the top seed. And one little stumble is all the Bulls need.

Either way, the East just got a little more dangerous with one of the West’s best players coming to the Coast.
